David Reid

David Reid started out DJing and working in Brighton record stores in the mid-90s. At 22, he joined Sony Music as a publicist, working with artists including Leftfield, Fugees, and Cypress Hill just as hip-hop, house, techno, and jungle became the defining sounds of a generation.
When P2P file-sharing upended the industry in the early 2000s, he pivoted from major-label marketer toward the intersection of music education and technology – first helping grow a London music school into an internationally recognised training ground for producers and DJs, then spending over a decade at Ableton, growing the brand in the UK and North America.
He lived in Los Angeles for several years, curating content, partnerships, and events with artists including Grimes, Bonobo, Nosaj Thing, and Kenny Beats.
He now lives in Barcelona, where he continues to produce and self-release music while consulting on product marketing and brand strategy for the pro audio industry.
