1What's the best way to buy a Velocity Press book?
Buying books in our shop is a great way of supporting VP. By purchasing directly from us you are helping contribute to the growth of our independent business and maximising the potential for us to bring out exciting new books. That being said, it’s also a great idea to support your local independent bookshop and record store…
2What format are your ebook files?
All our paperbacks are available to purchase as ebooks (epub files) from our website, and are licensed to the purchaser only. Any form of sharing is strictly prohibited. When you purchase an ebook direct from us you will receive a download link with the confirmation of purchase email. If you choose to pre-order an ebook, we will deliver it to your email when it’s ready. You will need to install an ebook reader app on your computer or phone to use it. They can be read on both PC and Mac, and most other devices – iPhone, Android, tablets etc. There are a number of excellent free reader apps available on the App store. Adobe Digital Editions is one of them and works on both your desktop computer and any handheld devices. Download the programme and just add the epub file to your library – you should be good to go. You can also purchase from most mainstream ebook retailers including Amazon Kindle and iTunes. If you are experiencing problems with installing your ebook, just drop us a line at info@velocitypress.uk
3How do you send UK post?
Post in the UK is sent second class for all packages weighing under 2 kg by our fulfilment partners. However, we do also offer a tracked service. Please email info@velocitypress.uk if you would prefer this option. For packages over 2 kg, we use a courier delivery service.
4Do you send orders to any country?
Yes, we ship worldwide. All overseas orders are sent standard airmail without tracking. All postage is sent via Royal Mail although we do use courier services for larger packages. However, we do also offer a tracked service. Please email info@velocitypress.uk if you would prefer this option.
5Are there discounts for buying in bulk?
Absolutely. Discounted rates start at 20% for orders of 5+ copies. Please email info@velocitypress.uk if you’re interested.
6How long does it take you to send orders?
If the product is in stock we aim to get our books sent out on the day of ordering or the very next working day. However, at busy times please allow up to three days handling time. If an item on your order is out of stock we will hold the whole order for 28 days to allow more stock to come in. If the item is still out of stock after 28 days we will advise accordingly.
7Can you send my order to a different delivery address?
Yes, but you need to ensure you provide a separate delivery address when you place your order.
8You told me my package left a week ago, it's still not here?
Have you checked your local post office, received a card from the mail company? Unless a signed for service is paid for we are unable to track parcels once they have left our warehouse. However, we are able to claim for lost post but the item is not classified as ‘lost’ until it has been missing for 15 working days or 30 days for an international item After these periods you can submit a claim.
9What information do you need to trace my order?
We need your order number or your full name and invoicing address as quoted on your order.
10Can I pay with PayPal?
Due to PayPal’s excessive fees, we use Stripe as our default payment gateway. However, if you’d like to pay via PayPal then please go to paypal.me/velocitypress and send us money. Please make sure you calculate the correct shipping for whatever you want to buy before you send any money. Please email info@velocitypress.uk if you’re not sure of the shipping costs and also to send us the shipping address.
11Can I request you leave the parcel with a neighbour or in an outbuilding?
Please do not make any such requests when placing your order. We cannot include special requests such as “leave in the porch” etc. Once the items have left our premises they are in the hands of the shipper. Most of our orders are dispatched using Royal Mail which is duty-bound by law to deliver to the recipient’s address anyway. It makes far more sense if you are not at home most of the day to request delivery to an address where you know someone will be there to receive it, such as a place of work or a family member’s home.
12Can you tell me how much the shipping will cost for my order?
Shipping is calculated as you place your order and will be clearly stated before you complete the transaction.
13Can you tell me how much my order will be in my own currency?
No, we cannot as currency rates fluctuate continuously. We suggest you use an online currency calculator to give you an approximate rate but please note the rate at which you pay will depend on that set by your bank or credit card company at the point in time they make the conversion.
14Will I have to pay duties?
For overseas orders shipping additional import charges/taxes may need to be paid by you upon delivery.
15If I pre-order, when will I receive my order?
Your pre-ordered book will be shipped as soon as the book is published. For each title available for pre-order you can see the approximate publication date. As soon as we have shipped your order, you will receive an e-mail.
16What's your returns policy?
While we hope you never want to return a book, we are, of course, happy to accept returns of any books that you’ve ordered incorrectly, if there are any defects or if you’re not satisfied in any way. View our Returns & Refunds policy.

Please subscribe to our monthly newsletter.
18Who do I contact with a press enquiry?
If you’d like to interview one of our authors or write a review please contact info@velocitypress.uk.
19Do you accept book submissions?
Yes, please send a brief summary, about 800 words long, of what you have written, or intend to write to info@velocitypress.uk. A separate breakdown of chapters is useful if you have one. We can then decide whether we want to see your completed manuscript or discuss a commission with you.
20Do you accept foreign rights enquiries?
If you would like to enquire about the rights to publish one of our titles in a different territory or format, please email info@velocitypress.uk
21Do you offer any work experience?
