Matt Anniss
Matt Anniss is a journalist, author, researcher and dance music historian. He began DJing, promoting events and writing about dance music as a student in the late 1990s and has not stopped since, despite spells writing professionally about such diverse subjects as triathlon and the Internet. In the early 2000s, he spent eight years working on IDJ Magazine, two of them as Editor, before going freelance.
Since then, he has written for titles including Red Bull Music Academy Daily, Mixmag, Resident Advisor, DJ Magazine and CRACK. He specialises in researching and writing about historic aspects of dance music culture and is currently working towards a PhD at Solent University. Raised in Sheffield, Matt resides in Bristol with a room full of records and too many books to mention.
