Stef Macbeth

Stef Macbeth is a freelance writer and commercial creative based in Berlin. He grew up in the southwest of England, studied at the University of Glasgow and received the Edward Caird Medal for Philosophy in 2005.

In the 00s, Stef was part of the creative team at Sub Club, Glasgow, where he worked with artists such as Optimo, Harri & Domenic, Honey Dijon and Andy Weatherall. Since moving to Berlin in 2013, he has been involved in a series of collaborations with other creatives, companies, social enterprises and cultural institutions, both in Germany and the UK. Stef ’s narrative work has appeared at international shows including Borealis Festival of Experimental Music and Cannes Lions.

He has also written for The Big Issue, DMY, The List and SUITCASE magazine. FOLK is his debut novel. In 2023 a version of FOLK was longlisted for the McKitterick Prize, awarded by the British Society of Authors.
